• WATCH: Videos show moment M4.6 quake hit

    EVERETT, Wash. - Video from Everett, Marysville and Monroe shows the moment a magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit about a mile northwest of Monroe Friday morning.

    Surveillance video from Smith Avenue in Everett shows violent shaking from the quake at 2:51 a.m.

    A second video from Amigo Arts in Monroe also shows some shaking and you can hear a garage door and metal rack vibrate.

    Two other videos, one from a Washington State Department of Transportation camera south of Everett and another from a garage in Marysville, also show shaking. The videos are all embedded at the bottom of this story.

    The quake was followed by a series of eight aftershocks, with the strongest a M3.5 that happened 3 minutes after the main quake.

    The earthquake occurred at a depth of 14 miles. KIRO 7 Chief Meteorologist Morgan Palmer said the deeper a quake occurs, the more widely it is felt.
