BURLINGTON, Wash. — A 16-year-old was arrested Saturday in connection with an October shooting at a party in Burlington, the Burlington Police Department announced Tuesday.
Three people were injured in the shooting on Oct. 25 in the 1200 block of East Rio Vista Avenue, according to police.
Investigators said two of the victims arrived at an area hospital that night with non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment.
A third victim later sought medical treatment and was contacted by officers, police said.
Detectives at the scene said they identified a suspect and later obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On Saturday, deputies with the Skagit County Sheriff's Department said they arrested the teen and turned him over to the Burlington Police Department.
"Our detectives continue to pursue information surrounding this incident and we expect other possible charges and/or arrests to occur in the future," Burlington Police Chief Mike Luvera said in a news release. "Crimes of violence cannot be tolerated in our community and these acts will continue to be a top priority for BPD."
Police said the teen was booked into Skagit County Juvenile Detention on suspicion of first-degree assault.
