Police searching for suspect who allegedly assaulted postal worker after fatal crash in Everett

Everett police are asking the public's help to identify a suspect who police say attacked a postal worker after a fatal crash last month.

On Jan. 22, officers responded to a fatal crash on Pacific Avenue and Colby Avenue. A USPS truck had struck and killed a pedestrian.

Police said following the collision, a man stripped off a Lakers jersey he was wearing, assaulted the postal worker and stole his keys. The man had left his jersey behind.

Investigators obtained surveillance video from a nearby 7-Eleven that showed the possible suspect in the store prior to the incident.

Everett police and the United States Postal Service inspectors are trying to identify the man in the video.

Anyone with information about the incident or can identify the suspect is asked to call the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
