Man posing as Lyft driver picks up fares in stolen truck

SEATTLE — Snohomish County sheriff's deputies would like to speak to the person who paid $50 to a man posing as a Lyft rideshare driver for a ride from downtown Seattle to the Tulalip Casino on Sunday.

Police say the driver was in a black 2017 Ford F-150 truck that was stolen from a Snohomish home sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect, who is now in custody, said he put a Lyft sign in the front window as a disguise to thwart the police and that he picked up at least three fares in the Seattle area on Sunday.

Deputies would like to identify and speak to any of the suspect's "customers" to aid their investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office anonymous tip line at 425-388-3845.
