A lawsuit was filed in the King County Superior Court over allegations against former Snohomish County prosecutor Mark Roe.
A former employee of the prosecutor’s office, where she worked for 13 years as a victim advocate, filed the lawsuit.
The plaintiff claimed that during the course of her employment at Snohomish County, Roe allegedly participated in inappropriate conduct in the workplace.
The lawsuit claimed that Roe allegedly would routinely criticize female diets and food choices, would refer to heavyset women in the office as “cows” and allegedly would say to heavyset women in the office “are you sure you want to eat that, fat cow?”

She also claimed that Roe allegedly allowed the “posting of a photograph of the genitalia of an obese naked defendant” and “thought the photograph was funny.”
According to the lawsuit, Roe allegedly made sexual comments and used derogatory terms to speak about men and women.
The plaintiff said immediately after a surgery and when she needed medical leave later, she was retaliated against and her work was investigated.
After a decade as top prosecutor in the County, Roe retired in December of last year.
We reached out to Roe and the Snohomish County prosecutor’s office and executive's office for comment.
