Gun shop break-in attempt caught on camera

A burglary attempt at a Lynnwood gun shop has the owner thankful for their security system.

The burglars arrived at Lynwood Gun on Highway 99 just after 3 a.m. Friday.

The attempted break-in was caught on camera. Five people, who appear to be young men wearing masks, arrived carrying a large rock.

They also had a garbage can with wheels. The owner thinks they planned to fill it with stolen guns.

The burglars threw the rock at the front window, but instead of getting them access to the guns inside, it bounced back and set off the alarm.

It turns out on the other side of the blinds the windows had bars.

"Their intention was to take guns out of here, clearly enough they have to fill up a garbage bin," said Tiffany Teasdale, owner of Lynnwood Gun. "They don't care who they're hurting, who they're going to effect. Their intent was to steal a bunch of firearms and who knows what, commit crimes, hurt people."

Lynnwood Police are investigating.
