A body was reocvered from the Skagit River in Mount Vernon on Wednesday morning, police said.
At about 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible body floating near the east river bank, north of the State Route 536 Bridge.
Deputies tried to reach the body but were ubanle to get to the location with their boat beacuse of logs and debris in the water.
Swift water rescue crews responded and recovered the body.
Police said it is too early to say whether the death is supicious and investigators are reviewing missing person cases.
The Skagit County Corner's Office will determine the identification.
