'Confusing' 911 call leads officers to man who stabbed brother

EDMONDS, Wash. — Detectives with the Edmonds Police Department are investigating a stabbing after officers say they received a confusing 911 call Tuesday.

Officers responded to the call at about 2 p.m. in the 7600 block of 203rd Street SW.

Police said the caller did not answer questions over the phone, but when officers arrived they found the caller, a 49-year-old man, in the driveway of the home.

The man was intoxicated and walked to the backyard, where officers said they found a 45-year-old man on the back patio with a stab wound to his chest and bleeding profusely.

Officers performed aid, and medic crews took the man to Harborview Medical Center.

After a preliminary investigation and collection of evidence, officers found out the men were brothers and one stabbed the other with a knife, officials said.

Authorities said the brothers had not been getting along.

The victim is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center and his brother was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on first-degree assault, police said.
