Mega Millions $1 billion jackpot numbers are in

DES MOINES, Wash. — Update as of Oct. 19 at 8 p.m.: The winning Mega Millions numbers are 65, 53, 23, 15, 70 and Mega Ball 7.

For the second time ever in U.S. lottery history, the Mega Millions Jackpot has climbed to a whopping $1 billion.

KIRO 7 visited ABC Grocery in Des Moines where owner Yun Yong McBride said more people have been coming into the store to but the lottery tickets in the last 24 hours.

“People who don’t normally play will play because you know what, it’s a billion dollars!” said McBride.

One of his frequent customers, Duane Wangler, stopped by to get a ticket this Friday morning. But he said his co-workers will probably come back later with money as part of an office pool.

“You don’t want to be the guy that didn’t buy it,” said Wangler.

We have had big lottery winners in Washington, including the person who bought a $157 million ticket at a 7-Eleven store in West Seattle in 2016.

For this $1 billion jackpot Friday night, a single winner who opts for a cash lump sum would walk with about $565 million.

The odds of winning right now is about 1 in 258 million.

The drawing is at 8 p.m. Friday. If you don’t win, the Powerball jackpot is also growing past 470 million dollars.

That drawing is happening Saturday night.
