• Man found shot, bleeding in Covington street dies


    COVINGTON, Wash. - King County sheriff's detectives are investigating after a man was found lying in a Covington street, shot and bleeding.  He died shortly after.

    At about 3:17 a.m. Wednesday, a woman who was driving in the area of Southeast Timberlane Boulevard and 185th Court Southeast called police after she saw a man in lying in the street, bleeding.

    Police arrived to discover the man had an apparent gunshot wound. Medics responded but pronounced the man dead when efforts to revive him failed.

    Investigators said a neighbor reported hearing a gunshot shortly before the man was found.  The victim is described as a black man in his 20s.

    Detectives said they have very little information and are asking anyone who knows anything about the shooting to call 206-296-3311.   Additionally, detectives are asking anyone who was the victim of any crime near the area Tuesday night to call police to file a report. This includes burglaries, car prowls or suspicious circumstances.
