TACOMA, Wash. - A man was attacked by a bear on Saturday morning at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The man is a military reservist who was scouting for deer hunting later in the season, according to the victim's friend.
The Director of Emergency Services at JBLM said the man did have permission to be in the restricted training area.
He suffered minor injuries, and was treated and released at the scene.
Officials have not yet located the bear. They are looking for the animal to make sure it’s uninjured.
