WSP recovers 4 stolen cars in King County with one leading to arrest

KING COUNTY, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol recovered four stolen cars on Wednesday in King County, with one leading to an arrest.

#1 Nissan NV 200

The WSP said this car was found just after 5 a.m. abandoned in Auburn and was taken to a tow yard for safekeeping pending a response from the owner.

#2 2016 KIA Soul

This car was found in Kent just after 6 a.m. when the troopers were alerted that there was a stolen car nearby. The trooper determined the car was abandoned and it was taken to a town yard per the request of the owner.

#3 2011 Hyundai Elantra

A trooper was contacted when the registered owner found their own car abandoned on westbound State Route 520 just east of Interstate 5. The owner called their own tow truck to get the car.

#4 2002 Chevy Silverado

Around 11:20 p.m., the WSP aircraft saw a car northbound on State Route 167 near 15th Northwest going 93 mph, with the top speed at 98 mph. Troopers stood by State Route 516 when the car took an exit and fled after troopers tried to pull them over. The aircraft followed the car for almost 10 minutes until it parked in a Cul de Sac and the two people inside got out and ran on foot. Troopers were able to place the woman who was driving and the man who was her passenger into custody.

“This is another example of the great work troopers are doing every day and the invaluable asset of the WSP Aviation Section to hold suspects accountable in the safest way possible,” said the WSP.
