Woman unloading groceries in Renton hurt in shooting

RENTON, Wash. — A woman was shot in the hand while she was unloading groceries outside her Renton home.

Renton police said officers were called to the home on Talbot Rd S at 3 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible shooting with someone down in the road.

Dispatchers then received a second call from someone who said their daughter had been shot.

Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who said she and her roommate were unloading groceries from their car parked in the driveway when someone shot at them.

The woman was taken to Valley Medical Center. Her roommate was not hurt.
