• Woman shot in leg near Seattle homeless camp

    Detectives are investigating after a woman was shot in the leg in near a Seattle homeless camp.

    Officers patrolling near 10 Ave. S. and S. Dearborn just after midnight Sunday heard gunshots nearby. 

    An officer searching the area found a woman underneath the I-5 overpass at Dearborn St. who was shot through the calf. 

    The woman said that there may be two more victims in a nearby homeless camp, but didn’t give a description of the shooter. 

    More than 20 officers scoured the nearby homeless camp and greenbelt, but didn’t locate any additional victims.

    Seattle Fire Department Medics took the victim to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

    Anyone with information about the case is asked call detectives at 206-233-5000.
