Man arrested in connection with Kent woman’s death

KENT, Wash. — A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a 55-year-old woman who was found dead Tuesday morning in the West Hill neighborhood, Kent police said.

Investigators said the woman’s family member was concerned and called police after the family couldn’t get hold of her during the morning hours. They told police that this was “highly unusual” for her.

At about 9:30 a.m., officers responded to a home in the Mar A Villa in the 23800 block of 30th Avenue.

When officers entered the home, they found her body inside.

Detectives said the woman’s death would be investigated as a homicide after a preliminary investigation, which led to investigators identifying a suspect.

The 33-year-old man was taken into custody without incident and was booked into jail for investigation of first-degree murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
