LAKEWOOD, Wash. — A woman died Thursday afternoon after a fire at a home in Lakewood, officials said.
The fire happened at a home in the 7500 block of Dowerdell Lane.
West Pierce fire officials told KIRO 7 that a person called 911 after opening the front door of the home to find smoke.

Officials said the home was full of smoke.
According to firefighters, the woman was found dead inside the home and no one else was inside.
Crews were able to get the fire under control.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
