Woman dies after a hit and run in Green Lake neighborhood

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred at North 82nd and Wallingford Avenue North in Seattle's Green Lake neighborhood.

The female victim was in the crosswalk Sunday at about 7 p.m. when she was struck by a car.

The driver, a woman, then fled.

The driver returned to the scene about 30 minutes later to speak to police.

The driver was then arrested and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide.
