Woman dead, man in custody in Auburn

AUBURN, Wash. — A woman is dead and a man is in custody after Auburn police say a dispute turned violent.

Police responded to calls of a domestic dispute at a home on U Street Northwest overnight Thursday.

Police had to order a man who was inside the home to come out.

“911 received a call about a family dispute with possible shots fired in a residence in the 1000 block of U Street Northwest here in Auburn,” said Mark Caillier with the Auburn Police Department.  “Officers arrived on scene and made contact with a male outside the residence who reported there was a family dispute inside.”

The man who was inside the home was taken into custody by police.

Police say the woman and the suspect were related.
