Woman arrested for several fires in Georgetown

SEATTLE — A 34-year-old woman was arrested after a series of fires in Georgetown early Monday morning.

Police responded to a report at 4:30 a.m. that someone had set fire to 10 garbage and recycling containers outside an apartment building in Georgetown.

The security cameras at the building showed a woman setting items on fire and walking away.

While officers were at that location, there were additional reports of fires in garbage cans outside a gas station and credit union office.

Witnesses at that location described a woman similar to the individual seen on the apartment’s security cameras.

Again, while officers were at that location, they received a report of another fire outside a nearby motel.

Officers responding to that location saw the suspect a short distance away and took her into custody.

The 34-year-old woman was booked into the King County jail for arson.
