A West Seattle mother woke up to a man who tried to break into her home over the weekend.
At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, the mother was asleep when she was awakened by someone trying to enter her home thorough a sliding back door.
When the mother woke up, she saw a man continue to open the door.
After the mother screamed, her husband woke up and, when the would-be intruder heard his voice, he fled the scene.
When police arrived at the scene, they searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
The suspect was described as being white and 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.
