SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies now have an opponent to play this weekend, days after the Apple Cup was canceled.
Washington will play the Utah Utes on Saturday at home, the Pac-12 Conference announced Tuesday.
Earlier Tuesday, the Utah-Arizona State game scheduled for Sunday was canceled due to COVID-19.
The Apple Cup, the rivalry between the Washington and Washington State University, was canceled because of COVID-19 complications affecting the Cougars’ football team.

“The scheduling of this game is consistent with the conference’s commitment to provide opportunities for student-athletes through maximum scheduling flexibility while still prioritizing health and safety,” officials with the conference said.
