Two-alarm apartment fire displaces residents in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. — A firefighter was hurt and several residents were displaced during a two-alarm fire at a South Everett apartment building.

Everett firefighters were called to a report of a fire at the Bluff Apartments at 2 W Casino Road at around 5:20 p.m. Thursday.

Neighbors said black smoke was coming from a third-floor unit in the G building. Everyone was able to get out safely.

Firefighters found a fire burning within a wall between two apartments, which spread to the attic.

The fire was upgraded to a second alarm and took about 90 minutes to fully extinguish.

South County Fire, Mukilteo Fire Department, and Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue assisted the Everett Fire Department.

Two apartments were damaged by fire and five other apartments have smoke and water damage.

One firefighter hurt his ankle while he was evacuating residents. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center to be treated and has since been released.

The Everett Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire’s cause.
