Truck fire spreads to Mill Creek house, garage

MILL CREEK, Wash. — Firefighters called to a report of a truck fire in Mill Creek arrived to find the vehicle engulfed in flames with the fire spreading to the second story of the house and the garage.

Crews were dispatched to the 15000 block of 30th Drive Southeast in the Mill Creek Red Cedar neighborhood at 3:21 a.m. Monday.

Firefighters were able to quickly get control and put out the flames.

Two adults and two dogs were able to get out of the house safely before crews arrived, but two cats were not found.

Damage to the home is estimated to be $300,000 and the residents were displaced.

The American Red Cross was contacted but was unable to come help the family because of bad road conditions. The Fire 7 Foundation was able to financially assist the displaced family.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
