BURIEN, Wash. — A pickup truck driver who pulled over on northbound State Route 509 to check his phone caused a light pole to come down June 14 in Burien, Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson said.
Johnson said the driver backed up the truck, and the ladder on the back of the truck struck the pole.
As a photo from Johnson shows, the end of the ladder appeared to have gotten stuck on the pole, causing it to fall.
