Teen who brought gun to school arrested, police say

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A student who brought a gun to Meadowdale High School was arrested Thursday morning, according to Lynnwood police.

Police said the 15-year-old admitted to bringing a pistol and ammunition to school and showing the gun to several other students.

One of the students shown the gun told his parents, who notified police, law enforcement said.

Authorities said the gun and ammunition, stolen from a relative’s safe several months ago, were recovered from the teen’s room. Police determined that the relative did not know that the gun was missing.

The teen was booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in Everett for theft of a firearm domestic violence and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police said those involved in crimes like this will be held accountable.
