Three men fired shots at an empty security vehicle Tuesday night in First Hill, police said.
Police received reports of gunfire at 10:39 p.m. in the 1000 block of James Street. They found a gray Dodge Charger which belonged to a private security company damaged by gunfire at the scene.
Officers learned that a security guard had pulled his vehicle in an alley and gotten out of the car to move a mattress that was blocking his path. When he was outside the car, three men opened fire from both ends of the alley, hitting the vehicle.
Witnesses said they saw a silver Mercedes and a black BMW leave the scene.
No one was injured. officials said.
Police are investigating.
