TACOMA, Wash. — A suspect was injured Wednesday morning during a police shooting in Tacoma.

At about 7 a.m., police received calls about shots fired and a man and woman screaming in the 300-400 block of South D Street in Tacoma.

Investigators said people reported that a car was leaving the scene and a man with a gun was near a home.

When officers arrived, they fired shots at the suspect and he was hit. He was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital. He is stable.

Three officers were involved in the shooting and they were not injured.

According to police, the car that left the scene ended up at a local hospital with a shooting victim, who is stable.

The investigation remains ongoing.
