SKYWAY, Wash. — Deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting in Skyway.
The shooting happened around 11:45 a.m. in the 6000 block of South 123rd Street – just west of the south end of Skyway Park.
Deputies said the shooting happened after a man broke into his neighbor's apartment, and threatened the man who lives there with a hammer.
According to investigators, the suspect would not drop the hammer so the neighbor shot him in the stomach.
Fire officials said the suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies said the man was defending himself and is not in custody.
