CLE ELUM, Wash. — Washington State Trooper Brian Moore said a driver was lucky to receive only minor injuries after being involved in a collision while not wearing a seat belt, and there's a picture to prove it.
Moore tweeted a picture of the injuries the driver received after crashing on Bullfrog Road near Cle Elum, Washington, on June 1.
According to Moore, the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Instead, the belt was hanging at the driver's side and it left a noticeable mark on his skin.
Moore said the Washington State Patrol did not release the photo until the case was closed.
The driver paid a fine for failing to wear a seat belt and for making an improper turn, according to the State Patrol.
According to Washington's Seat Belt Law, RCW 46.61.688, "Every person 16 years or older operating or riding in a motor vehicle shall wear the safety belt assembly in a properly adjusted and securely fastened manner." Click here to read more.
