SEATTLE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation will shut down the southbound lanes of the State Route 99 Alaskan Way Viaduct beginning at 9 p.m. Friday.
WSDOT officials said the road will close between the West Seattle Bridge and south of the Battery Street Tunnel, but the Western exit will be open.
The closure is related to work happening with the new SR 99 tunnel being constructed in Seattle, officials said.
The road will reopen at 6 a.m. Sunday, “in plenty of time” for Pride Parade traffic, WSDOT said.
