Fire breaks out at South Seattle apartment complex

SEATTLE — Firefighters are mopping up a fire at an apartment complex in South Seattle.

Crews were called to the two-story building in the 7500 block of Renton Avenue South at about 4 a.m. Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived, flames were showing from the roof in the garden area of a townhome.

Neighbors were evacuated. No one was hurt.

The fire has since been put out and the cause is under investigation.
