MAYTOWN, Wash. — A son is in custody after a husband and wife were found dead in their Maytown home Sunday night, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were called to a home in the 13200 block of Taylor Street Southwest for a welfare check.
Police say they knocked on the door but no one answered. Once they looked through the window, they could see someone was lying on the grounds. They then forced their way inside and found a man and woman in the 70s who had been killed, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said.
Police discovered the couple’s son was also inside the home and in violation of a no-contact order.
Deputies booked him into the Thurston County Jail for investigation of two counts of murder and other felony charges.
It is not clear what led to the killings but deputies are continuing to investigate.
