Snohomish County Sheriff's deputy saves dog from Stillaguamish River

A deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office helped rescue a dog from the Stillaguamish River last week.

Officials said a family was spending time together when their dog jumped into the river.

"Deputy Dawson with our Dive Unit responded immediately to begin searching for their lost family member. Geared up in his dry suit, Deputy Dawson was eager to rescue the pup who was headed downstream," officals with the Sheriff's Office said on Facebook.

Deputy Dawson was able to locate the dog stuck down a cliff-side and led her back to a safe rescue point, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The dog was reunited with her owner, who told the Sheriff’s Office she did not “have enough words to convey her thanks and gratitude.”
