LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — A 66-year-old woman was found safe Wednesday after having been reported missing for nearly 24 hours.
Gwen Cason was reported missing around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday about seven miles north of Lake Stevens.
Just before noon Wednesday, the operator of the Getchell Fire District’s drone said he spotted an anomaly in blackberry bushes near where Cason was last seen.
Upon a closer look, officials said the operator saw Cason hung up in the bushes.
“The drone operator was able to radio her location to several Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue Members as well as a Sheriff’s Deputy,” a spokesperson for the Getchell Fire Department wrote in a news release.
Officials quickly responded to the location and provided Cason assistance.
Cason was later driven back to her residence and was reunited with her family.
