Small earthquake rumbles near Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — A magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit just north of Port Townsend Wednesday night.

According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, the quake hit at 9:07 p.m. at a depth of 14.3 miles. There were no reported injuries.

The quake struck less than 26 miles from Mount Vernon and about 30 miles from Everett.
