OLYMPIA — A Skagit County nursing assistant's license was suspended Tuesday after being charged with second-degree rape and two counts of fourth-degree assault, the Washington State Department of Health announced.
Willie Lawton was criminally charged in Skagit County Superior Court with second-degree rape of a frail or vulnerable adult, a class A felony; indecent liberties with a frail or vulnerable adult, a class B felony; and two counts of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation, a gross misdemeanor.
Lawton has 20 days to respond to the charges and request a hearing. He cannot practice as a nursing assistant in Washington until the charges are resolved.
The Department of Health asks people to call (360) 236-4700 and report their complaint if they believe a health care provider has acted unprofessionally.
