Man arrested in Everett shooting, robbery

EVERETT, Wash. — A man was arrested in a Saturday night shooting and robbery in Everett.

Just before 7 p.m., 911 received numerous calls reporting an injured man in the area of 6300 Rockefeller Avenue.

Arriving officers found a 39-year-old man who had been shot in the face. The man told officers a woman invited him to a nearby house to discuss her recently stolen RV. Once inside, the woman, her boyfriend and a 46-year-old man accused him of stealing the RV, beat him and then stole his phone, the victim said. To escape, the man broke through the living room window and was shot as he fled.

The man went to a nearby house for help. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with serious injuries and was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center. He is expected to survive.

Officers went to the home in the 2000 block of Lexington Avenue where the victim was shot and spoke to the 46-year-old man. Police said the man gave officers several versions of what happened at the house. Officers said he admitted to shooting the 39-year-old, but said it was in self-defense.

After investigating, officers said they believe the woman thought the 39-year-old victim stole her RV and invited him to the home, where he was shot.

The 46-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on probable cause for assault and robbery.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Everett Police Department Tip Line at 425-257-8450.
