Shelton woman arrested in hammer attack on neighbor

SHELTON, Wash. — A woman was arrested Tuesday in connection with a hammer attack on her neighbor.

Shelton police were called to the apartment complex in the 1100 block of North 12th Street at 1:30 p.m. where they found a woman who said she had been hit in the neck with a hammer by a neighbor.

She was treated by medics at the scene and then transported to Mason General Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and then released.

Witnesses helped the officers find the suspect, a 62-year-old woman, who also lives in the complex.

She was found and taken into custody a short time later.

The woman was booked into the Mason County Jail for investigation of second-degree assault.
