Seniors in Tacoma Public Schools will have in-person graduations

TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma Public Schools announced the class of 2021 will have in-person graduations in June.

However, only some family members will be allowed to attend the graduations.

According to the school district’s website, officials are still working out details on graduation location and how many family members will be able to attend the ceremonies, given pandemic restrictions.

Officials said they plan to share that information as soon as possible, along with how to watch the events online.

The graduation dates are listed below:

Wednesday, June 9

  • SOTA: 1 p.m.
  • IDEA: 4 p.m.
  • SAMI: 7 p.m.

Monday, June 14

  • Oakland: 1 p.m.
  • Stadium: 4 p.m.
  • Lincoln: 7 p.m.

Tuesday, June 15

  • Wilson: 1 p.m.
  • Mount Tahoma: 4 p.m.
  • Foss: 7 p.m.

Those who are allowed to attend the ceremonies will be required to wear a mask and maintain 6 feet of social distancing from those outside their household.
