Second probable case of monkeypox being investigated in Pierce County

The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department announced Thursday it is investigating a second probable case of monkeypox in Pierce County.

According to the health department, a man in his 50s tested positive on Wednesday. He was not hospitalized and is isolating at home.

The case is not related to Pierce County’s first case and does not appear to be travel-related, the health department said.
