Seattle restaurant to offer COVID-19 vaccines, booster shots

SEATTLE — Bluwater Bistro’s Leschi location will offer COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots to guests.

The restaurant’s founder, Bart Evans, said the location is believed to be the first restaurant in the U.S. to offer the shots.

“We pushed hard during the early days of covid to be open and safe for our neighbors, actually expanding our hours of service during the shutdowns. We wanted to be here for our neighbors and staff, not shuttered. This commitment, as well as doing weekly on-site covid testing for the staff, enhanced the areas trust in the store and operation. The company feels this trust is important in the next step by actually providing vaccines to guests,” Evans said.

Evans’ position is that what is safer for the neighborhood is also safer for the restaurant.

“We feel a lot of people may still be hesitant to go to a bigger site or an unfamiliar location for a jab. The barrier is a lot lower when coming into your neighborhood restaurant that you have felt safe in for the last 18 months.”

Vaccine clinics with UW Medicine will be held on Oct. 6, 8, 13, 27, 29 and Nov. 3. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available.
