Seattle police investigate stabbing in Rainier Beach neighborhood

Detectives are investigating a stabbing that happened in the Rainier Beach neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

According to the Seattle Police Department, witnesses called 911 just after 2 p.m. when an 18-year-old man walked into the Rainier Community Center with a stab wound in his arm.

Officers provided aid until the Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The victim was then taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Witnesses told police the victim was at a bus stop in the 9000 block of Rainier Avenue South when he was assaulted by two or three men.

Witnesses said the men then fled the area, possibly in a light-colored SUV.

This is an ongoing investigation.
