Seattle firetruck struck in possible hit-and-run

The fire truck was dented, but is otherwise OK.

SEATTLE — One person fled the scene after a car struck a Seattle Fire Department truck.

Fire officials said the driver crashed into the side of the truck in the Lake City neighborhood around 2 a.m. Thursday.

No firefighters were hurt. The firetruck was dented but is otherwise undamaged, but the car that hit the truck was badly damaged.

After the crash, one of the two people in the car got out and ran away. It was not immediately known if it was the driver or the passenger who fled.

The firetruck wasn’t on a call at the time of the crash, so no responses were delayed.
