Seattle apartment complex evacuated due to high carbon monoxide levels

SEATTLE — An apartment complex in North Seattle was evacuated early Saturday morning after high levels of carbon monoxide were detected, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Seattle fire crews responded after a fire broke out at one of the complex’s two buildings near the 900 block of Northeast 65th Street shortly before 4 a.m.

One person was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Seattle Fire used their Mobile Ventilation Unit to help reduce carbon monoxide levels in the building.

The occupants of the complex’s north building were able to return to their homes around 5:30 a.m. after authorities determined the air quality was safe throughout the building.

Occupants of the other building in the apartment complex were able to return to their homes about an hour later.
