Search on for suspect after sexual assault at Monroe park

MONROE, Wash. — Police are searching for a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger at a Monroe park.

Monroe police say it happened between 9 and 10 a.m. near the river at Al Borlin Park Wednesday.

Police were called to the Evergreen Health Medical Center in Monroe an hour or so after the attack to interview the 47-year-old victim.

Officers searched the area but did not find a suspect.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 180 to 190 pounds. His hair is dirty blond to brown, wavy and medium length and he had about three days’ worth of darker facial hair growth.

He was wearing a dark, medium-weight jacket with a distinct red design or pattern near the collar on the left shoulder, and dirty, dark sweatpants.
