RENTON, Wash. — The Seahawks have a secret weapon who is getting ready to play his first game at home on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Football fans know him as the Seahawks' blocking tight end, Will Dissly.

One of the biggest stories for Seattle this season has been the production of Dissly, who has 147 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns through the first two games this season.

“He’s a baller,” Russell Wilson, the Seahawks' quarterback, said. “He can really make a lot of plays. He kind of reminds me of a young Witten (Jason Witten, the former Dallas Cowboys tight end) a little bit, just how he sees the game, how he runs routes.”

The playmaker out of the University of Washington is on top of his game right now.

"When you get to this level, that's the biggest thing is to have confidence in who you are and what kind of player you are,” said Dissly. “I always knew I could do it, but that's the funny thing about football, man – you have to be in the right place at the right time."

For as much negativity as there's been about the Seahawks offense this season, Dissly has definitely been a bright spot.

Dissly is the first rookie tight end in NFL history to start his career with at least one touchdown and more than 40 yards receiving in back-to-back games.

"He's been exciting,” said Wilson. “(He is) really exciting (to watch this season). He's tough as nails and probably one of the most athletic guys just all around."

Dissly said he appreciates the support he's received from Wilson and the rest of his teammates.

"(Their advice to me is) just go out there and be who you are and just play the best you can,” said Dissly.

“You throw it to him (and) he catches it,” said Wilson with a smile. “You know, he does his job and he does it really well."
