SEATTLE — Crews spent Wednesday evening repairing a stretch of road in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood after a heat wave caused it to buckle.
The damage happened in the northbound lanes of Fourth Avenue South at South Industrial Way at about 5:30 p.m. when temperatures were at about 90 degrees.
A 44-year-old woman in a car was treated in the area of the buckled road, Seattle fire officials said. She suffered minor injuries.
Officials did not say what happened to the woman or if she had hit the buckled portion of the street.
SDOT engineers are working to level the stretch of road with temporary repairs hopefully in time for tomorrow's morning commute.
