Port Townsend man found dead after domestic violence stabbing

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — A 29-year-old Port Townsend man was killed in an apparent stabbing at a home in the Cape George community in Jefferson County Wednesday.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said 911 dispatchers received a call from a 23-year-old Port Townsend woman at 10:18 p.m. who said she had stabbed her boyfriend during a domestic incident at the couple’s home.

Deputies and medics came to the home off Johnson Avenue and found the man unresponsive with a suspected stab wound to the chest. Medics tried to revive the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was questioned and then taken into custody for charges related to the homicide, deputies said.

Detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said they are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
