‘We'll kill you both': Police search for teens involved in 3 carjackings

Police are searching for four teens, all under 18, who they said were involved in three back-to-back carjackings Sunday night from Renton to Tukwila.

Investigators say two women were carjacked at gunpoint while eating in their car in the Renton Walmart parking lot around 8:30 p.m.

"Knocked on my window and asked me if I knew how to get to Tukwila," said one of the women, who did not want to be publicly identified. "He pulled a gun from his hip, cocked it, and pointed it at me – and yanked the car door open and said, ‘get out or we'll kill you both.'"

She said the teens not only got away with the car but took her and a friend's cellphones and credit cards. Police said they later recovered some of their belongings that were tossed at the nearby Fred Meyer.

"I was afraid for my life," said Keeley Madigan, who was also in the car and initially thought the carjacking was a prank. "It's something you don't really think will happen to you until it does."

The women, who weren't hurt, then flagged down a security truck in the Walmart parking lot and said they later learned from police they weren't the only victims targeted by the teens Sunday night.

"Crashed my car somewhere in Tukwila and after crashing my car, hijacked another car and took off," said one of the victims.

Renton police said they recovered that woman's car but the suspects managed to avoid being caught at the scene of a second carjacking, only to commit a third carjacking in Tukwila.

Tukwila police did not immediately respond to our request for additional information on the two carjackings in that city, including locations and whether any victims were hurt.

"Why are you willing to throw away the rest of your life for material items?" said one of the victims in Renton, who told KIRO 7 she was carjacked the night before her birthday.

"The initial adrenaline wore off and I feel empty," said Madigan. "It was a very traumatizing experience."

Police have not released surveillance pictures or video of the suspects at this point in the investigation.
