Police: Suspect shot by owner of business during burglary

A St. Louis police officer is accused of driving a van too roughly to punish two prisoners, court documents claim.

YAKIMA, Wash. — A Yakima business owner shot a man attempting to burglarize his insurance business Monday morning, police said.

The owner told police he discovered the burglary suspect inside after 8:30 a.m. and shot him, law enforcement officials said.

Officers responded to 30 North 2nd Street at 8:38 a.m. to a burglary in progress/shots fired call.

Officers found the suspect inside the business with gunshot wounds to his face and arm, law enforcement officials said.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the owner is cooperating with the investigation.
